Bristol Garden Makeover

Here is an overview and more in depth look at a full garden makeover for a customer in Bristol

Garden plan

The brief was to create a second garden with a patio for entertaining. Because of the level of the land in the area, to get a seamless level without stepped areas on to the paving required excavating and moving soil. With access limited, we decided to push this all to the far end of the garden and that area could be left raised .

The garden suffers from horsetail, which is notoriously hard to get rid of, thanks to its very deep roots and weed killing treatments don't work well. This just has to be managed with constant maintenance to clear where the plant is not wanted.

Materials

We used external porcelain paving for the patio area, with a black stone edging to contrast and softwood timber edging.

Construction

After getting the digger in through the recently renovated office, the first thing was to dig and get the levels correct.

Access was tricky for this project and everything in and out had to be taken up to the back of the long garden.
